Three young Guatemalans and a native Mayan traverse Mexico towards the border with the USA. On foot, or on train carriage roofs along with dozens of other migrants hoping to reach the United States. La Jaula de Oro (The Golden Dream) is the narrative film debut of documentary maker Diego Quemada-Díez, and follows their bittersweet and sometime tragic progress. Whilst a fictionalised tale of endurance and hope under duress, the film is based on real life stories and experience. #BreakingBorder Season.
