Following the death of their mother, Su-Mi and Su-Yeon return home from a spell at a mental institution to live with their father and stepmother. No sooner have they returned than disturbing and inexplicable events start to occur and the sisters become convinced that their obsessive and unhinged stepmother is keeping a terrible secret. Based on the old Korean folk tale Jangha and Hongryun, A Tale of Two Sisters was a huge hit on release, and the first Korean horror to see an American release.
