It is very hard to write about Coherence without giving at least something away. It would be ideal to go into Coherence knowing as little as possible about the film (though the fact we are screening it in our Sci-Fi Sundays programme will of course indicate that all is not quite what it seems!). So for the spoiler averse, know this: Coherence tells the story of eight friends who have reunited for a dinner party on a night which coincides with the close passing of a comet. Know also that this is a wickedly clever movie, full of mystery and wonder, and incredibly gripping. Tickets are on sale now and you’d be mad to miss it.
For those who’d like to know a little more read on:
*Slight spoilers follow*
During the course of the dinner party there is a sudden power cut. The friends venture outside to investigate and find that the entire street’s lights are out. All except for one house. Two people head to the lit-up house to use their phone, while the others had back inside. There is a broken glass, where there was not one before, and they have the creepy feeling someone has been in the house. A feeling that only gets worse when the friends return from the other house to report what they found: A house very much like their own, laid out for a dinner party, for eight people.
