Deptford Cinema’s ‘Babes in Arms Club’ is a new monthly film screening only for parents, guardians and their babies. Therefore, there’s no need to worry about disturbing other guests while the film is rolling. The films are screened at a lower volume to allow your babies to enjoy their sleep.

For our opening film, we are presenting Joker which earned a leading 11 nominations at the 92nd Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, winning Best Actor for Phoenix and Best Original Score for Hildur Guðnadóttir.

The film, based on DC Comics characters, stars Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker and provides a possible origin story for the character. Set in 1981, it follows Arthur Fleck, a failed stand-up comedian whose descent into insanity and nihilism inspires a violent counter-cultural revolution against the wealthy in a decaying Gotham City.
