Mr. Nakashima had an interesting past but, after years of loneliness, he decides to get a helper robot for daily chores. Eventually their friendship grows, and they are both living a very happy and peaceful life. But things go crazy once a strange creature visits Mr. Nakashima to take away his soul into the afterlife.
ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:
Ramon Faria is an award-winning Brazilian director. His focus includes puppets and 2D animation.
Ramon began his career in 2007 as an intern at Rede Globo (TV station) in the Art Department. He was promoted and stayed until 2017 when decided to go to Full Sail University to earn his Masters of Fine Arts in Film Production.
During that time, Ramon made some animated short films, which participated in more than 50 festivals in Brazil, Norway, Greece, Mozambique, USA, Portugal, etc.

Drawing from a close friend’s childhood memories and his struggles with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Mother Figure is centred on a man and his toxic relationship with his mother growing up.
ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:
CHANG, CHIA-TSE, graduated from Chaoyang University of Science and Technology in 2015, and from Tainan National University of Arts in 2020. For a long time he has been trying to cut into the issues around life from different perspectives, trying to find subtle and hidden phenomena and magnify them, using brushes to express and interpret the diversity between people. He is deeply inspired by directors such as Yang De chang, Hou Xiao xian, Xiao Ya quan, and Chen Zhe yi, as well as the new wave of Taiwanese movies.
