LION’S DEN (LEONERA)

Julia, 26, a few weeks pregnant, discovers at home the body of two men, including that of the father of her child. Unable to remember the circumstances of the murder, she is incarcerated in a special prison for young mothers, awaiting trial. She gives birth there to a son, Thomas. When she is sentenced, Julia knows that she can only keep Thomas close to her for 4 years. Despite the confinement, she lives with her son real moments of happiness. One day, Julia's mother, exiled in France for several years, comes to take the boy. Upset by this separation, Julia will do everything to recover him.

Cast: Martina Gusman, Elli Medeiros, Rodrigo Santoro

In Spanish, French with English subtitles.

Real inmates are extras, real cells provide the scenery: it has the desperate vitality of something barely made-up.
