Child’s Eye View is a short season focusing on children’s perspectives in films. The opening feature is Forbidden Games, a 1952 classic from French director René Clément. Following young Paulette in the wake of her parents’ death during a German air raid, it is a moving meditation on the innocence of childhood and the trauma of war. Forbidden Games was first screened at the Cannes Film Festival and went on to win many accolades, such as the Golden Lion in Venice and the BAFTA for Best Film; come and discover it at Deptford Cinema!
