A vital, poetic portrait of a young migrant's journey, Larsen's multi-award-winning documentary offers a new perspective on the refugee crisis, finding a heartwarming way to approach a devastating situation. As 3-year-old Lean travels from Greece to Sweden, Larsen follows, capturing the intimate experience behind a global tragedy. This preview screening of a festival favourite offers an early opportunity to see and discuss a timely, urgent film.

There will be a video introduction by director Egil Håskjold Larsen.

This will be the final presentation of Child's Eye View, a short season of hand-selected films that explore the perspectives of children in cinema.

Preceding short film: BITTERSWEET BAGHDAD (2016) dir. Alia Hassan

“Baghdad was not like any environment I had ever shot before... Producing this piece led me to explore the culture and mind of the city in a depth to which I would never have otherwise reached... let this documentary remind us that we can stand together as humans even in light of backwards political decisions.” - Alia Hassan
