Fivehundredthousand is an artist-run curatorial initiative, set up to act as a creative pivot around which community can function. We have shown the work of over 60 emerging artists, partaking in events such as the ArtLicks Weekend and The Edinburgh Annuale, as well as working with institutions such as Kungl. Konsthögskolan (Stockholm) and Universität der Künste Berlin and Basic Mountain (Edinburgh). For our event at Deptford Cinema, we are pleased to announce a programme of artist films from practitioners working both in the UK and internationally.
The structure of the event will open with an introduction about us and our focus, followed by the programme of films, with a short intermission. We would also like to invite all those attending to an informal drinks afterwards, both for the artists and the audience to carry on conversations about the select works.
Artists featured include: Sid Smith, Euan Gubbins, Eleni Papazoglou, Rob Daglish, Kate Frances Lingard, Nils Agdler & Timo Menke, George Bularca, Fiona Rafferty, Melanie Christine, William Glass, Lara Smithson, Rosie Gibbens, Andy Wyatt, Hoagy Hickson, Harry Smithson, Eliot Felde, Philip Speakman & Billy Sassi, & Becci Hilton.
Samuel Kelly We would like to thank Deptford Cinema for kindly hosting us for the afternoon of the 6th of April.
