All the body-piercing, kinky sex, and car crashes that William Shakespeare always wanted but never had! Join Tromeo (Will Keenan), Juliet (Jane Jensen), and Lemmy of Motorhead (Himself) as they travel through Manhattan's underground in search of climactic love, violence, and the American Way. TROMEO & JULIET is thrust forward with hyperkinetic performances and a cutting-edge soundtrack by Motorhead and Ass Ponys.

Directed by Lloyd Kaufman and co-written by James Gunn (Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1 & 2), TROMEO & JULIET is a testament to the strength and creativity of Troma Entertainment, as it boldly suggests the incestuous nature of Shakespeare's original play.

Deptford Cinema is delighted to announce that legendary Lloyd Kaufman, President of Troma Entertainment and creator of THE TOXIC AVENGER, will be live and in person to answer your questions and introduce an exciting sneak peak of the newest Troma Entertainment film SHAKESPEARE’S SHITSTORM, a Tromatic adaptation of William Shakespeare’s play The Tempest and a spiritual sequel to TROMEO & JULIET.

Lloyd Kaufman will also happily pose for photos and sign free autographs. There is no dedicated ‘photo/autograph op’ time on the night, so please arrive early to meet the filmmaker and get an autograph [as well as some new and exclusive Troma goodies as the Troma Team will also have a great merch-stand in the cinema bar on the night] before the film starts.

This is the first film in our GREETINGS FROM TROMAVILLE season – a tribute to Troma Entertainment, the longest-running independent film studio in North America, now celebrating 45 years of filmmaking. Primarily known for classic titles such as Lloyd Kaufman's THE TOXIC AVENGER, CLASS OF NUKE ‘EM HIGH, TROMEO & JULIET, Charles Kaufman’s MOTHER’S DAY and Tray Parker’s CANNIBAL! THE MUSICAL!, Troma’s library of nearly 1000 films, cartoons, TV shows and shorts contains early work of many of today’s major star actors, directors and writers. Trey Parker, James Gunn, Eli Roth, Oliver Stone, Jenna Fisher, Kevin Costner, Vincent D’Onofrio, Marisa Tomei and Samuel L. Jackson are just a few. Troma Entertainment continues to be a haven for young and independent filmmakers during the era of corporate takeovers.
