Deptford Cinema is proud to present the UK premiere of the Estonian drama NULLPUNK (Zero Point) by Mihkel Ulk
“Zero Point” is a drama about the most pressing problems of today’s youth – school bullying and the low self-esteem it causes, adjustment disorders, and search of recognition.
Sensitive and restless Johannes is accepted to an elite school in Tallinn and expects life to go uphill. Instead due to circumstances he has to make difficult choices in order to establish/validate himself. He becomes the victim of mental abuse by his classmates who have formed opinions about him based on rumours from his previous school. At home, Johannes must deal with his mother’s deteriorating mental health.
In search of recognition, he goes back to his old friends who spend their time doing drugs, hanging around and partying, rather than focusing on schoolwork.
As the tension grows, he finds himself at zero point, where he must completely reset his life to build it up from scratch.
