Escape it all with our mini-festival of punk movies. From Battleship Potemkin to The Death of Louis XIV, we chart almost a hundred years of filmmaking resistance to the monarchy.

THE DEATH OF LOUIS XIV (Albert Serra, 2016)

Maverick filmmaker Albert Serra teams up with the iconic Jean-Pierre Léaud to explore the vulnerability of the monarchy in a tragicomic spectacle of screen profanity.

Returning from a hunting expedition, King Louis XIV feels a sharp pain in his leg. He begins to die, surrounded by loyal followers in the royal chamber.
