A boy receives guitar lessons from a washed-up rock star (90210's Luke Perry) who lives in the council flat below his, keeping it a secret from his God-fearing mother and the bullies that torment him at school.

An indie wonder that burst onto the festival scene at Raindance Film Festival, The Beat Beneath My Feet introduced us to Nicholas Galitzine, the young star of this year's fantastic Handsome Devil.

We will be joined by the film's producer, Michael Mueller, to talk about the film and its production process.

Featuring a tremendous soundtrack by John Fairhurst, Paul Cartledge, Geoff Jackson and Phillip Jewson, The Beat Beneath My Feet has a sound of its own that’ll have you tapping your feet as you watch.
— Our programmer Kat Kourbeti, in her review for Flickering Myth
Perry burrows into his emotionally fractured character with a fierce intensity, conjuring the life and inner turmoil of a conflicted rock musician as mass media fugitive.
— Prairie Miller, WBAI Radio
The Beat Beneath My Feet offers a fond reminder of why we all loved Luke and introduces a bright young talent in its lead.
— Jo-Ann Titmarsh, HeyUGuys
