A new endeavour for us and its purpose is twofold: firstly, to give you, our wonderful audience, a closer look at the work that goes into running the cinema; and secondly as a platform for us to share our enthusiasm for film in all its forms!

Why now?

We’ve wanted to do a blog of sorts for ages but the rest of the day-to-day of running a community cinema has got in the way, until now. The COVID-19 situation, although on one hand has forced us to postpone in-house screenings, we’re now in a position to keep ourselves active by looking at things such as our On Demand service, our upcoming podcast and of course the journal.

What to expect from the journal?

Everything really, it’s open season! Our volunteers will be writing about their experiences at DC, programming, love of film in general and anything and everything else.
